A goat who had lived in the same house for decades had a new home after her owner gave it a lease of a year.
The goat, named Rupa, is a female Bengal goat.
A house-based programme was launched by the Bengal government to find a suitable goat house.
The programme has helped the goat’s owner to get her goat back into her household.
The Bengal government has also funded a goat rehabilitation programme for women who want to start a family.
The program has helped to keep the goats happy and healthy.
The owner of the house, which is about 60 meters (nearly 300 feet) long and 30 meters (yards) wide, has offered to give Rupas new lease on life.
She is also offering her goats to be rented by her family.
“Rupa’s new home is a new life for the goat, and the goats have been welcomed back,” said a Bengal government official.
